Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band 2023–5 World Tour

The immortal Bruce Springsteen and the accompanying E Street Band continued to deliver in 2024 dozens of energetic performances and monumental live sets decades after the first show from these Rock and Roll Hall of Famers. The world tour, which debuted in 2023 and continued through 2025, gave fans access to the force-of-nature grandeur of an extended 19-member E Street Band all through the exceptional sound of a Cohesion audio system.

Challenge

For this worldwide tour, the band wanted to especially emphasize the New Jersey legend’s soulful and powerful vocals and guitar prowess. They prioritized seamless and even coverage for fans who had waited patiently for years for Springsteen to tour again in their city. With so many talented people packed onto one stage, energy needed to be directed off the stage and to the right places—the fans selling out venue after venue.

Solution

Clair Global deployed the Cohesion PA in each stadium and arena on the tour. The system, comprising six hangs of CO12 buffeted by a center hang and three CO10 delay towers and CO8 side fill, ensured precision in the intelligibility of vocals and the musicality of the instruments. The arrays deliver outstanding on-axis performance, while their highly optimized polar response ensures a smooth and controlled off-axis roll-off, resulting in exceptional tonal consistency across the entire audience area. Flown and ground-stacked CP218 II+ subwoofers provided low end to the crowd while keeping unwanted energy away from the performance area. Forty stage monitors, a combination of CM22 and CM14, gave crystal-clear reference to the twenty artists on stage.

Result

Every show was a sell-out as the legendary performers trekked to more than a hundred shows in dozens of countries, and the Cohesion audio system allowed fans from the steepest balconies to the ground floor to experience the energy and passion of Springsteen’s incomparable discography. As System Engineer Brandon Schuette described, “The main objective is the most consistent coverage possible; I want every seat to sound like they’re at FOH. We get to a place of true reinforcement of what’s happening onstage. Bruce sounds very natural through Cohesion.”

“I had the opportunity to hear the Cohesion system very early on, and I was impressed. I immediately started to plan to get it on the road with us. At this point, we have put Cohesion in lots of different environments, and frankly, it’s like sitting in a control room.”
