In support of their ninth album AfterLife, Five Finger Death Punch toured across Europe and North America to bring their signature metal sound to packed arenas. Debuting in August 2022 and concluding in September 2024, the tour, which featured hits from the titular album that rose to number-one on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Album chart, was backed by a reliable, robust Cohesion PA at each of 100+ intercontinental stops.
Five Finger Death Punch prioritized connecting with the audience during their high-energy shows, so vocal intelligibility and musicality from the PA were as important as full-arena coverage and output. With 100+ stops over two years on a tour dotting both Europe and North America, the production team required an audio system that minimized its truck pack and was quick to rig and strike.
Clair Global deployed a system that featured the Cohesion CO12 for the main and side hangs, which provided seamless coverage and delivered Five Finger Death Punch’s energetic sound to every seat in the house. The substantial low end of the CO12 was supplemented by a dozen Cohesion CP218 II+. Cohesion CO8 provided front fill for the boisterous barricade section, and Cohesion CM14 fulfilled stage monitoring for all artists.
The output of the audio system was evident, especially in the punchy low end, but never at the expense of the guitar and vocals. As intelligibility was crucial to the band, the CO12 system provided clarity for both high-energy hit singles and emotional, fan-focused moments. This powerful PA, designed with techs and production crew in mind for simple, efficient rigging, fit into just one truck.
“Cohesion puts out an incredible amount of bottom end. It has a lot of power, it’s crystal clear, and I’m getting the dB level 250 feet back in an arena. Having a lot of power in the mid-range is important so you don’t get distortion, and Cohesion just doesn’t distort.”
