Two-time Latin Grammy-winner Rauw Alejandro brought his vision of a Broadway-style musical performance to the world with a 62-stop, Live Nation-produced global tour in support of his fifth studio album, Cosa Nuestra. The selected Cohesion PA provided seamless horizontal and ample vertical coverage while faithfully reproducing the sonic details of Alejandro’s visionary journey through salsa, reggaeton, and other genres, backed by a seven-piece band, dancers, and MC, and four acts of riveting, romantic narrative.
Rauw Alejandro and his team insisted on a touring audio system that would provide the same listening experience for a fan in the front row as the one in the nosebleeds. Furthermore, the intricate theatricality of the show needed to be protected—in other words, the nuances within his unique, genre-smashing performance was a high priority, and the PA needed to reflect that musicality.
Clair Global deployed the PA, which featured Cohesion CO12 on the main and side hangs and Cohesion CO10 on the 270° hangs and auxiliary side fill, providing full-arena coverage with negligible dB loss in the upper bowl. Six Cohesion CP218 II+ were flown with another fourteen under the stage for additional low end support; the ground stacks were arranged in an arc to better disperse energy toward the sides of the arena.
The Cohesion PA more than passed muster for the detail-oriented Alejandro, who is highly attuned to production-level decisions. His growing legion of fans, who flocked to arenas decked in period-appropriate 1960s garb, were treated to exceptional output and rich, full coverage anywhere they stood—or danced and sang the night away.
“The CO12 was very, very strong in the high-mid range, and the vocals distributed well. It’s a pretty impressive double-12. I requested twenty CO12 on the mains because I wanted coverage everywhere, and it sounded great in the low end with the sub.”
