Disturbed “The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour”

Disturbed celebrated the 25th anniversary of their seminal heavy metal album The Sickness with a global tour full of pyrotechnics, dramatic production, and a crystal-clear PA provided by Cohesion. The arena tour relied on the consistency, coverage, and thumping output from the selected audio system to deliver on Disturbed’s signature snarl—including a record-tying thirteen #1 Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay hits.

Challenge

The heavy metal quartet, known for chart-topping hits such as “Down with the Sickness,” “Stupify,” “I Will Not Break,” and “Bad Man,” Disturbed wanted their loyal followers to experience memorable entertaining shows with clear, impactful sound in each market—and in each seat. With a dynamic set that interspersed rousing rock songs with intimate, quieter moments, the selected PA needed to showcase the band’s intricate details without compromising coverage or power.

Solution

Cohesion CO12 main hangs and CO10 side hangs, paired with flown and ground-stacked Cohesion CP218 II+ subwoofers comprised the audio system, supported further by Cohesion CF28 fill speakers on the stage; the PA was deployed each tour date by a Clair Global team and filled every arena with full-coverage, crystal-clear audio.

Result

The fans couldn’t get enough of Disturbed’s engaging show, with a first set playing The Sickness in its entirety, followed by a post-intermission set of the band’s greatest hits. From mosh pits to a rousing arena-wide sing-along to the band’s famous cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence,” each night was a showcase for the visceral impact of live music. The CF28, part of Cohesion’s innovative CF Series line of fill speakers, were expressly named as a highlight for the audio team, who praised their versatility, voicing, and throw capabilities.

“With the CF28, the voicing is identical to what I’m hearing in the air from the CO12. That’s the problem with the expensive seats: no one pays attention to the job of the front fill. You have to make sure the audience down front hears every bit of the mix. I can go from in front of the hangs and walk into the front fill, and the voicing never changes. It’s incredible.”
