Archer Music Hall, located on bustling Hamilton Street in the heart of Allentown, offers a high-quality, intimate live music experience without the need to travel to larger cities. The 31,000-square-foot facility hosts up to 1,600 in a well-appointed space that features a permanent Cohesion audio system for rich, all-over sound.
As a new live music venue located outside of a major metropolitan area, Archer Music Hall wanted to open its doors to the public with a flourish. They prioritized offering guests luxe amenities, great sightlines to the stage, and an exceptional sonic experience for both fans and high-caliber touring artists. Full coverage and clarity, without sacrificing output, was integral for the selected PA.
The Cohesion PA chosen by Live Nation and procured by Clair Global Integration (CGI) comprises two CO10 arrays left-right to cover the bulk of the main seating area, as well as the upper balcony seating. The CSB218i under the stage provides thumping bass to complement the low end extension of the CO10 above. The CF Series of fill speakers is well represented, including one of the first permanent installations of CF10, as well as CF28 across the stage for front fill. CGI also built all necessary racks for the audio system.
Regardless of where patrons stand or sit at Archer Music Hall, they receive seamless, crystal-clear audio, thanks to the full coverage provided by the Cohesion PA. The CF28 mirrors the voicing of the CO10 arrays for the rail-riding fans up front, and the yoke-mounted CF10 speakers at the two bars flanking the GA area ensure that guests don’t miss a moment. The CO10 arrays feature 120° horizontal dispersion inserts on the top six enclosures per side to better cover the horseshoe-shaped second floor, while 80° inserts on the bottom four enclosures on each array offer tighter control to keep energy where it belongs—toward hundreds of delighted fans and not reflecting off side walls.
“I was thrilled to see the Cohesion install in Allentown. The mid-range has a presence and tonality that I enjoyed mixing on. I was able to get separation and definition between instruments in the same tonal range, and there was always plenty of headroom. I was very impressed with how responsive the Cohesion system was to dynamic changes on my end. Engineers and fans are in for a great night at the Archer Music Hall.”
